The Volvo XC 70 is essentially a "butch" version of the V70. Susan Myer in Desperate Housewives played by Teri Hatcher drives one. Volvo's second biggest seller in US.

Audi A6 Avant and Allroad

Audi's A6 Avant is avaliable in four wheel drive as an option. Hence the Allroad is deemed as a dolled up version of the A6 Avant. Plenty of chrome, extra plastic mouldings in bumper and raised height does make the Allroad capable of off-roading. Which we do not recommend.

Volkswagen Passat R36
A bargain alternative to this week's featured Audi A4 Avant. Comes with an impressive Dynaudio sound system and a bassy 3.6 litre V6 engine to lust for. On special indent only.

What were they thinking?

Pictured above is the Mini Clubman, a car tagged by BBC UK's Top Gear as the ugliest car of 2007. The unusual split rear tailgate is the main culprit for ruining the Clubman's design. Priced at $12,ooo more and offering little space advantage over a regular Mini, the Clubman's asking price seems insane! Read more here
