Expression-ist
Given the runaway success of the Mercedes Benz CLS, the world's first four door coupe. Other car makers will be keen to cash in on offering cars that individualistic and highly stylistic. More genre-breaking cars in the future? You bet!

Audi Sportsback Concept
The star of the recent 2009 Detriot Auto Show from Audi points to a direct Mercedes Benz CLS rival. Will be called the Audi A7 when it enters production fairly soon. The tip of the iceberg will be a rumoured 4-door cabriolet! That will be destined choice of mobile for future parades!

BMW 5-Series GT
Perhaps the X6 was not extreme enough for BMW's current appetite for madness. Hence BMW has decided to create a hatchback version of the 5-series executive sedan. Conceptually an excellent idea, however this looks to be very poorly executed and is destined to be a showroom white elephant.

Venturing out of tradition

Four-Door Coupe: Mercedes Benz CLS
Conceived as a supplement for the slow selling E-Class sedan in 2004. Hugely successful and sparkled off German car makers interest in niche car-making!

Four-Door SUV Coupe: BMW X6
A mash of the 1-series hatchback (top) and X5 SUV (bottom). The end result is a dramatic looking SUV that will date quicker than a Britney Spears scandal.

Two-door SUV Coupe: Honda HR-V
A hot hatch on Timberland boots. It captured the imagination of Vitara buyers looking for something more refined and fun. No plans from Honda for a replacement.

Two +2 Doors Coupe: Mazda RX-8
Suicide doors inspired by trucks has added a dose of practicality that coupes have never seen before. The Jap icon has sold in big numbers and is due for replacement in 2010.

Renault Avantime: Too ahead of it's time.

Renault quirkiness at its pinnacle. Wallpaper-readers ate this French coupe up. The eccentric French manufacturer offered MPV levels of space with only a pair of enormous doors and called this a luxurious coupe. You will be hard pressed to find another coupe capable of seating four with that much head room. Manufactured between 2001 and 2003, only 8,545 examples ever left Renault's affiliated, Matra manufacturing facilities. Like it's name suggested: Avan, which means advance in French, we were just not ready then.
