Wacky Peugeot concepts

Peugeot concept cars have always been cutting edge and even eccentric at times. They are fun and hopeful projections of the motoring future. Fridae takes a look at three eye catching concept cars among Peugeot’s vast collection.

Peugeot RD Concept
The main innovative operating feature of the Peugeot RD Concept car is its ingenious system of articulation that provides irreproachable road holding allied with the ability the easily thread its way through urban traffic.

Peugeot Quark Concept
Peugeot Quark is a concept car that is rather like a four-wheeled motorcycle. It uses fuelcells and has an electric motor on each of the four wheels. All four motors combined to give the Quark 40hp. It can drive about 130km before it needs refueling.

Other city run-abouts

Ford Ka
A Fiat 500 twin. Disappointing replacement to the original. Not as fun to look at or to drive.

Nissan Pixo
A Suzuki Alto twin. Hence lacks the Micra's looks or the quirkiness of the Cube.

Renault Twingo II
Based on the Renault Clio II, the Twingo II looks plain compared to the original.

Toyota Aygo
A Peugeot 107/citroen C1 clone. Oddly, Aygo is the smartest looking.

Concept to reality: 308 RC Z Concept

A French Audi TT? You bet that the French manufacturer will be going after the iconic German coupe with this dazzlingly looking concept that is based on the humble 308 hatchback. A 2010 launch date was planned prior to the recession.
