Stigma and discrimination still the greatest foes in the AIDS war in Asia
Almost 200 new MSM HIV cases occur each day in Asia – that’s one man (who has sex with another man) becoming infected with HIV every 7.5 minutes. This and other statistics were revealed at the 9th International Congress on AIDS in Asia and the Pacific (ICAAP 9) which closed in Bali, Indonesia last Thursday.

Gay Iraqis being tortured, killed as part of social cleansing campaign
Calling for the Iraqi government to do more to protect gay men, the Human Rights Watch has released a 67-page report documenting the accounts of gay men – and men who are not 'manly' enough - who were kidnapped, tortured and/or raped by militia groups. "Hundreds" are believed to have been killed for being gay or suspected of being gay.

Malaysian doctor links masturbation and gay sex to H1N1 flu
When asked to clarify, Malaysia’s Health Ministry Director General refused to comment on the accuracy of the news report carried by the government's official news agency Bernama News which reported that while heterosexual sex acts are safe, masturbation and homosexual activities could make one susceptible to the H1N1 virus.
