RSS (Really Simple
Syndication) is a popular technology employed by websites and weblogs to push
headlines and summaries of content directly to users.
Also known as web feeds, rss feeds or just plain feeds alone, it is used to keep one updated on the latest articles, events or even blogs posted in a website.
Ok, am game, what tools do I need?
To start getting RSS feeds, you will need a RSS Reader on your computer. Most browsers now would have come equipped with a RSS reader. A few
common browsers with their own RSS reader is listed below:-
If you are unsure on which version of the browsers that you are currently using, you may view under the menu "Help" and select the "About" (eg. About Internet Explorer or About Mozilla Firefox) * Feeds by Internet Explorer 7.
This would commonly be available in the bookmark section called "Feeds".
To subscribe to it, just click on any of the feeds below and select "Subscribe To This Feed".
Once you have successfully subscribe to it, you would be able to view its link when you click on your Bookmarks (Ctrl B) and selecting "Feeds".
You may do the same with the rest of the Feeds should you wish to be interested in.
* Mozilla Firefox 2.0 Live Bookmarks
For the Firefoxy fans, this is relatively easier as you would only need to click on any of the link below .
Firefox would pop up a dialog similar to those should you decide to bookmark a link.
Once you have confirmed the addition it would be available in your list of bookmarks. Give it a try.
* Mozilla Firefox 1.5 & Other Browsers
You will need to find a add-on (Firefox) or use a widely available RSS Reader Tool.
We have provided some links in which you can use or you could Google up some on your own under the term RSS Readers.
* Opera RSS Reader.
For the Operatic fans, this is relatively easier as you would only need to click on any of the link below .
Opera would pop up a dialog similar to those should you decide to bookmark a link.
Once you have confirmed the addition it would be displayed automatically.
To return back to the browser just Press Ctrl T and to return to the Feeds just select it from the menu.
